Join us for a Mental Health & Nature Walk!
This group offers a welcoming space for anyone looking to openly discuss mental health while enjoying the calming presence of nature.
We will begin at Riverside Track, where parking is conveniently located. Our walk will take us past the historic Riverside Military Academy, a prestigious institution founded in 1907 that continues to serve as one of the nation's leading military college preparatory schools for boys in grades 6-12.
Next, we will stroll along the scenic route to the Chattahoochee Park Pavilion, a site rich in history. Originally constructed in 1900 as part of Chattahoochee Park, an amusement park that operated until 1923, it later became a retreat for Georgia Power employees and their families. Though much of the park now lies beneath Lake Lanier, the pavilion still stands as a reminder of the area's past.
As we continue, we’ll pass homes and the American Legion Post 7 before arriving at the pavilion by the lake, where we will pause for a mindfulness exercise, taking in the peaceful surroundings. The walk will conclude with a return to Riverside Track, leaving you refreshed and reconnected.
